YOU MUST HAVE 4.21 INSTALLED TO USE THIS PATCH.

5.61 has been released. This patch does not require 5.6 (but you should get it anyway), so even if you have not got 5.6 you can still play 5.61.

I've fixed up 4.21.module so that you don't need to edit it at all, all you need to do is install 4.21, rename the folder to 'Creature Chaos 4.21' and you can play 4.21 easily.

Changes include...
- New pre-made armies
- Mutant (Alien from 2.82) has been added, 20 melee, 36 speed, size 6 etc. It's got an interesting bonus as well, but you'll have to use it if you want to see it =P
- SBs have less range, more damage and more HPs, so even size 2 art should outrange them
- Infest does full damage to SBs and nearly full damage to AAs
- Anteater fixed up
- Lvl 1 power border increased to 65, level 2 to 105 (only to allow certain good lvl 1 combos back into lvl 1 eg coy scorp, tarantula lion, and walkulas back to level 2)
- Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 costs lowered a bit
- Level 5 costs increased a bit (makes level 4 not quite so useless, even with the much higher power border it got in 4.21)
- AAs have less damage, a higher attack rate (less damage overall), lower cost and build time and do not require adv structures.
and some other stuff, check the change log

(The following is copied from the readme file so people don't just ignore it)

Creature Chaos 5.6 is an unofficial patch for CC 4.21, however we could not get it to work by overwriting 2.82 so unfortunately once you install 5.6 you will be unable to play 4.21.

To install 5.6, simply extract the Creature Chaos 5.6 .zip file into your Impossible Creatures directory. Make sure your 4.21 folder is a clean installation if you've been messing with it (*looks at Rocks*).

I have included a second .module file titled Creature Chaos 4.21. Those of you who want to keep 4.21 available can do so - copy your 4.21 folder before installation and rename it to something other than Creature Chaos or Creature Chaos 4.2 (just CC 4.21 is fine), then open the .module file using NotePad and change 'Creature Chaos 4.2' beside ModFolder to the exact name of the new CC 4.21 folder.

I don't think you will be able to play online using 4.21 (but I'm probably wrong) since you and your buddies will likely have different folder names.

Creature Chaos is not my mod, nor is this patch official. It overwrites 4.21 for only one reason and that is that it does not work online if it did not, for whatever reason (I could not be bothered to fix it up).

If you have a problem with the mod, post on Impossible Creatures Planet (http://icp.mednickonline.com/) or PM me.

ADDED: Known bugs:
Some effects (eg quill burst) have larger effect radii than their animation radius, so stuff will be damaged/affected by abilities that visibly do not reach them. Quill burst is the most obvious example.

AI sucks again. =<

---

CC 5.62 change log:
- Hyenas lose keen, gain Frenzy
- Tiger melee concentrated on claws (head melee reduced to 2)
- Polar Bear speed increased, size up to 4
- Grizzly Bear speed, health, defence increased, claw damage increased, bite reduced in damage

You will need all of these patches/mods to play online with the majority of the IC community.

I included 2.8 and 2.82 since the 5.6 patch (and any further patches that we release) overwrites it instead of 4.21 (since it's unofficial and I don't want to be breaking any silly EULA thing).

You can download it here. Thanks Player.

I've uploaded this since Doggie's no longer wanting to host 4.2/4.21 and who knows how long the official site will keep hosting the 1.1/1.4 patches.

These files are *ENGLISH*. If you are wanting German or French, I can't help you there. Sorry Wah/Frenchi/whoever else =P

This is mainly for new players and people like Dess who can't keep track of all the patches (or for people like Rocks who delete their installation files without backing stuff up).

Enjoy.

Edited by FiveLeafClover || Reason: New host site. on 3/27/08

Edited by FiveLeafClover || Reason: None given. on 3/28/08

NEW WAY TO PLAY ONLINE !

Hello ,i see that the main server is down. There's one thing called IGZ(International Gaming Zones)They keep old games alive like Age of Empires 2 (right now there are online like 1700 players)plus other games. They also have a section on the site where you can request support for new games.I created a thread about Impossible Creatures. To get to the next phase we need 75 VOTES.So 75 people must VOTE YES.If 75 people will vote yes then we'll get to the next step and the game will get supported.

Advantages : Being able to host through it , joining easily ,much server info ,RANK SYSTEM , et cetera.

If anyone played Age of Empires through IGZ will know what i mean.

Head here and vote YES
IGzone

(registration required)

                     Don't let IMPOSSIBLE CREATURES DIE.

If it will get supported , it will be in the games list when you run IGZ ,you join the main servers for it ,where you will see people hosting ,or you can host, you join them , then the player start ,it send you to the game multiplayer (Also you can see where people are from ,their ping ,server description (before they start) rank system et cetera.

By the way i posted that thread a few min ago then i posted here.

The fact is without ICO, it's little more than a gesture. There are a fair number of changes for you guys to explore and play with. Healths are closer together, L5 costs more to get to, ranged costs have been tweaked, birth defects have been removed, a number of bugs have been fixed, and build time minimums are now correctly implemented. There are also many minor tuning and cost adjustments.

Anyone capable of playing IP games or using hamachi can handle a zip install, so a zip install is what you get.

Here's the download.

This is probably the last patch if we don't get ICO back.

Oh and btw, extract it to your impossible creatures folder and click yes to all when prompted to replace.

Edited by Doggiedoodle || Reason: None given. on 2/15/08

Let's try to get on xfire's supported games list

Ok, for those of you who don't know, xfire is an instant messenger client designed around multiplayer games. I'm not sure how it works exactly but they claim that for supported games, you can join a friend's game in a single click. If this could actually happen, it would make arranging and joining IP/hamachi games much much easier. There's a topic petitioning for xfire support of IC. Ironically it was posted a week before ICO went down. The more activity we can get in that thread the more likely we are to get xfire support. Do be respectful of their rules while posting in the topic.

According to their guidelines for getting a game accepted, xfire needs to know how they can purchase/obtain the game. If anyone knows good a good place for this, I suggest they post it in the thread.
